Directions to the Museum

Traveling east on Highway 64, take the Hwy 28/Business 441 Exit. At the traffic light at the end of the exit ramp, turn right. You are now on Business 441. Follow the directions below ("from the south").
From the South Follow Business 441/Hwy 28N into town. Pass the public library on the left, and at the next traffic light, bear left on Porter Street. Pass Franklin High School on the right. At the next traffic light, turn right on Palmer Street. (At this point Palmer becomes one-way proceeding east.) Go one block to the top of the hill to the traffic light and turn left on Iotla Street. Go one block to the traffic light and turn left on West Main Street (one-way proceeding west.) The Macon County Courthouse will now be on the right, Rankin Square on your left. The Museum is just past Rankin Square on the left and directly across from the courthouse .
From Highway 441S, at the first traffic light, take the Business 441 Exit into East Franklin. (The Day's Inn will be on your right as you exit.) This is East Main Street. Follow this street west all the way into town; do not make any turns. As you proceed up the steep hill into downtown Franklin, you will need to be in the left lane. After you crest the hill, follow East Main Street to the traffic light. Here the street becomes West Main Street. Go through the light; the Macon County Courthouse will be on the right, Rankin Square on the left. The museum in just beyond Ranklin Square on the left and directly across from the courthouse .
Proceed into Franklin on Highway 28 (it will become Harrison Avenue). Follow this street to Church Street; turn left on Church Street. Go one block; turn right on Iotla Street. Follow Iotla Street to the traffic light; turn right on West Main Street. The Macon County Courthouse will be on the right, Rankin Square on the left. The museum in just beyond Ranklin Square on the left and directly across from the courthouse . |
